MY APPROACH
Understanding your history.
Making space for change.
I practice integrative psychotherapy: we draw from different approaches according to your needs, rather than expecting you to fit one method. Our working relationship is central. I make space for honesty and curiosity, including conversations about what is helping and what needs to change.
I don’t see the struggles people bring to therapy as proof that something is wrong with them. Anxiety, depression, addiction, and other difficulties are often misunderstood reactions or adaptations to a person’s environment: a normal response to an abnormal situation. Very little about modern society is “normal,” and humans were not designed to live the way our world is currently set up. Seeing your struggles in that light can make room for compassion as well as change.
My experience includes work with anxiety and phobias, major depression and suicidal ideation, substance and process addictions, obsessive compulsive tendencies, men’s issues, adolescents, dual diagnosis, ADHD, grief, and first responders and veterans.
I am LGBTQ+ affirming and competent in working with concerns involving sexuality and sexual identity.
